No goodies this year..

Every year I either bake cookies or cakes during the Christmas season.. The plan this year was to bake light fruit cakes, pack them up in cute little bags with a note to be passed around to those in the office and at church on Christmas day..

Decided to scrap that idea yesterday.. haha.. There's still so much to do.. I've got parents' Christmas gifts which I haven't bought.. So many more gifts at home which still needs to be wrapped and tags to be written.. Dress shopping.. So figured I shall not tire myself out this year.. and will just do without the cakes la..

It'll still be a lovely Christmas without the goodies.. (I'll just go over to my cuz house and eat em')

I'm loved!

"I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!"
Psalms 139:7

Was reading this passage and this verse 'jumped' up at me.. Such a wonderful knowlegde to know that our God will never let us escape from Him..

Bestest Cake!

I had the most delicious birthday cake this year.. Mum really outdid herself..

It was a chocolate sponge caked filled with hazelnut chocolate mousse and lazed with almond caramel crunches.. To top it with melted imported chocolate..

Yums!!!!

They're screaming!!!

So my calves, thighs and lower back are aching terribly now.. Was to tempted to take MC this morning cos I could hardly walk.. I don't remember the last time I felt this sore.. Did the insanity workout (or rather just the warmup) on Monday night and went walking/jogging at TTDI park yesterday evening.. It's been months since I've worked out like this.. thus the screaming legs!!

Today is definitely a rest day.. if I did anymore today I think I'd be kaput tomorrow!

On the bright side, I feel a wee bit healthier..

Good steal

Air Asia just started another promo (don't they always.. but I guess that's awesome for us) for period of travel from 1 Jan - 31 March 2011.

So I booked parents a trip to Bali.. Tembok Bali to be exact for sometime next March.. Although the flight was not exceptionally cheap, dad said to go ahead.. The resort looks so good.. Mum thought I was coming along haha but thought it would be nice for just the 2 of them to go for the trip without me..

Then I decided to check out flights to the island since I'm thinking of doing my AOWD by April next year.. One way flight was RM3!!! With the airport tax, insurance and shuttle service, I ended up paying only RM29!! What a steal.. and the price I paid for the aowd package with accomodation and transfer was also really good.. Got it at the dive fair.. Now just got to pray that the vis will be good and waters calm..

The purchase of the flight was made quite on the spur of the moment but I figured if I do change my mind I would only lose out on RM29 as compared to what I would lose if I book the flight later..

It's that time of the year..

Woke up this morning at 6am with a massive pull on my left leg.. This is the 3rd time I'm got it in a few months.. It was so painful.. you can't move, can do nothing and the pain just got worse.. Had to wake mum up.. First I thought it was a cramp but then it was just at one particular spot.. Mum says maybe I lack calsium or salt.. Time to go for that annual check-up..

I'm a year old here today!

Boy.. I've made it through an entire 365 days here.. although it seems way lesser cos time's been passing by so fast..

I'm very thankful to be where I am today because in the past 1 year here, I've accomplished more than I ever thought I would.. I've been roped into 4 big projects, of which 2 have already been rolled out successfully.. 1 for end of this month and the other sometime Dec.. God's been faithful as He's also brought into my path many good colleagues, those that continue to support me and make me laugh when days are gloomy..

His favor never ceases as well.. But favor from God is earned and I have to remember not to take that for granted.. Although His grace and mercies are new every morning, it's something to be conscious about everyday..

Lord, thank you for not once letting go of my hand.. that you've brought me through each day a victor and not a victim.. I look forward to the wonderful plans you have for my life, and commit it all to you. Amen!

Compliments from the Big Man

Our CEO posted on our internal blog and complimented our Virtual Career Fair project. Says that after he went to the fair, he himself felt like applying for a job.

Thank you Lord that you've brought us through the successful launch of the project, help us now to maintain it just as well.

I'm excited for tomorrow

Who's the Best Employer?

We won 'Best Employer in Banking & Finance' yesterday by GTI..
How cool is that! I'm so proud to be a part of this organization! Weeeee!!

Another cool note, our Virtual Career Fair was a hit yesterday!
We started at 10am and the site was flooded with hundreds of visitors the whole day long, till we even extended our time to chat with them from 5pm to 7pm..

It's a year long project, hopefully we'll get some really good recruits from it..

There was however 1 negative comment received yesterday.. sigh! Which the visitor decided to blast on our Facebook wall.. but we have responded to her... Apart from the 1 negative comment, we received countless positive responses!

I'm glad to be chosen to be a part of this inaugural virtual fair! Phase 2 & 3 to come in 2011!

Virtual Career Fair

So we finally go live today at 10am! A project a team and I have been working on since February, is finally going live!

I believe that we could have gone live earlier and but due to the changes in vendor etc it was delayed..

I'm proud to say that we're the first in South East Asia to have such a platform.. No doubt many other companies will follow suit soon enough but it feels good to be the first.. With the very limited publicity and marketing we have put forth, we've had a healthy amount of registrants already. Don't really know what kinda volume we'll be getting later from 10am today for the next 1 year but it looks promising..

If you are looking for a job, or knows someone who's looking for a job, get them to register and log on to our Virtual Career Fair... There's also opportunities for them to speak live to our recruiters from all across the region..

Mum got an order to make some finger food for an event today.. It's really God's blessing and favour that came around as she was offered quite a fair bit of $$ to make them.. These finger food that she's making comes really easy for her but she still puts in her all to make sure that the quality and presentation is up to expectation..

One thing that I really admire about my mother is that eventhough she's already an expert at all these cake making and decorating.. making flowers etc.. She still enrols herself in classes, buries herself in books to enhance and sharpen her skills.. With new techniques and equipment coming around, she makes sure that she's always up-to-date so that she can serve her customers the best she can..

My mum makes the most yummylicious CREAM PUFFS!

She packed some for me this morning to take to work.. Ooooo.. I'm just savouring every bite of it.. Careful not to get any cream left on the side of my mouth.. Heee...

Still Adapting..

It's been nearly 2 months now since we've multiplied.. and I'm still trying to get used to it.. I had to get used to the fact that I could no longer call up L to just help me out with stuff, or better still just take over the entire Fri for me.. It's definitely a good change.. but one I'm still trying very hard to get use to..

With this change comes new opportunities.. to let others into that 'part' of my life and to depend on them in times where I can't be 100%.. These past 7 weeks has definitely shown a growth in my relationship with the new peeps, building of trust and friendship and definitely accountability - both ways.. Greater things are yet to come!

Apart from that, it also caused me to reexamine myself.. To be more intentional and prepped up for Fridays.. no more being complacent.. There are days where we don't have enough peeps, sometimes just 3 of us.. but it reminds me that even the 2 others that make the time to come are worth it..

This week is a hectic week for me - at work as well as off work..

Lord, give me the strength to pull through..

Revisiting Chilhood

A few boys bought this the other day and I thought they were silly till I started to mess around with it.. It's so cool! Felt like I was a kid again.. Till YS poked me in the eye with one..
Wonder what it will feel like to play with one the bigger ones..

What else could possibly go wrong?

Just a few days back I had the pleasure of catching up with some friends, people I had not hung out with for a long time.. One guy was sharing on how he had such a tough day, but through it all.. at the back of his mind he somehow felt that 'it would be ok'.. That faith kept him going on..

Everything that you could possibly imagine would go wrong for him on that day did.. It at the end of the day, just as he had had enough beating, and was expecting more.. the situation got turned around..

God showed him favor in all aspects..

The day ended on a good note for him and I was so encourage to hear despite all that he went through in just that one day, how he persevered and he didn't allow situations to deter him from his fatih and trust in God.

Jaziel can walk... really fast! I can't believe I missed his first few steps.. Atteh needs to spend more time with him..
Amy's back! Just for 3 weeks that is.. Looking forward to spending a little more time with her..
I'm looking forward to going out like this again.. With you too Melissa! :p

Live.. YES!!

One of the projects that I've been working on with a couple of other colleagues is supposed to go live today.. Oh well it was suppose to go live like 1.5 months ago, but due to some *circumstances* we had to delay it. Thank God for a favorable time frame from lady boss.. She's been really generous with us..

So yea, we're really hoping that our vendor will be able to upload everything and that we'll meet our target today..

Jesus.. help help us go live today..

No More Varie-TI

Roger Ti + Sarah Jane Cheong = Mr & Mrs Roger Ti!!

They are 2 of my closest friends and they got hitched last Saturday.. I was so touched to be asked to help alongside for their wedding.. It meant a lot cos they've such a blessing to me.. Through the years, whenever I needed anything.. anything at all they would be there for me.. So it was my turn to give back..

The team that was put together were also really awesome! Most of which were former cellies and others just really good friends.. Everyone was so efficient and pulled their weight for the wedding..

The whole ceremony was just so touching that so many teared.. some even flooded the carpet I believe lol..

God's brought them through many years and I believe that this is just only an awesome beginning...

May your lives as husband & wife now be an example to many just as it was when you guys were courting.. God has fabulous plans in store for you.. Continue to surrender and trust Him for everything..

Sarah - ABUNDANCE!!! =p

Can you count?

So I went swimming the other day.. It was kinda scary.. Who would have thought that I'd ever be afraid of going into the water for a swim haha.. But I guess after that experience, anything's possible..

Anyway, swam 22 laps with Zhi and Serena.. that's the most I've ever done.. so proud of myself hee!!!

Definitely not gonna be one time thing.. Maybe next week again?

New Beginnings

It's been a long time since I posted something on this blog..
Been slacking!

Last night, I went out for dinner with the cellies.. What was suppose to be a meeting with just leaders became dinner + dessert with 10 of them!!
It was just a wonderful night of catching up and laughter.. not to mention the hilarious poses by some monkeys :P
I'm sure some of them will be posting up pictures on FB soon.
*reminder to self : untagged all pics that I don't look appealing in, thanks to a monkey!*

The cell's gonna multiply this coming Friday, and although it's a little sad to know that we'll be meeting in 2 different groups after that, I think it's more humbling for me because I realise that God's hand has so evidently been upon this cell. From the time we multiplied from our first cell in 2008, God has just been blessing us with new cellies, new converts and raising raising up leaders in the cell. It is surely 'not by might, not by power but my Spirit says the Lord'.

My faith has also risen to a whole new level. There's been many challenges along the way, but I thank God for His wisdom and the wonderful people He has placed to help and guide me through it.

It's a new season!

Day 8

Today's my 8th day in hospital.A stay which I thought would only be max 2 nights has now already turned to be 6 nights.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia sometime last week.Doc put me on one antibiotic which was not working. Then changed me on another type, which is about 10 doses.2 doses a day via IV.The first 2 hurt a lot but now it doesn't anymore, either the nurses have become more gentle or I've just gotten used to it.

Today's a beautiful day.. I woke up feeling good, and prayerfully it will last throughout.. Previous evenings I've been having fever..

I've only got 2 doses left..

Oh Lord, you're my greatest physician.. I surrender all to you.. Please clear my lungs and let your blood flow through my body...

Surprise!

Just when everything seems like it's falling apart and you're losing control.. God just amazes you... I love it when He does that.. =p

Have to continue to cling on to Him for wisdom and favor..

Confirmed!

So yesterday I got confirmed.. They backdated it to 19th May though cos that was my initial confirmation date..

But I must admit, a little doubt did creep on whether I was going to be confirmed, cos my Unit Head was away so I knew we would only sit down and talk about it after he comes back on the 24th May..

24th May came.. silence

25th May came.. silence

So I decided that if they hadnt said anything by 27th May, I would ask..

Then yesterday, my manager makes an appointment with me and says that they've been wanting to see me since 24th, but just have been too busy..

They gave me such a good rating and a lot of positive comments...

Praise God!
I'm confirmed! hahaha..

It's truly by God's grace that I've been blessed with such wonderful bosses.. Those that really look out for my wellbeing here.. Couldn't ask for better bosses.. and colleagues..

Some of my closest colleagues were rejoicing together with me yesterday.. I'm gonna go belanja them sometime in June.. when our work settles a little.. This month is just crazy!

To take or not to take..

I'm seriously considering taking my Advanced Open Water Diver license in July.. Don't wanna be stuck on land no more when the rest go for deep and wreck dives..

Downside, I'll probably need to do one Night Dive, something I'm not so hyped up about.. So dark... eeeerrrriiiieeee....

What's in store this week?

God’s been good! Just extremely amazing..

We now have cellies from different areas such as Subang, Bangsar, Cheras, KL.. It really does ease up the load on the others as now we have these cellies to help fetch those who need transport from these areas..

Last week was just great as well.. I met up with different cellies 3 week nights for dinner.. It was a good catch-up session and also to touch base on what’s been happening in their lives as most of them can’t make cell on Fridays due to work/classes.. Felt that I should do week night dinners with them more often.. This week and next week are a little packed for me, but will try to make one night for them at least..

We went to Chamang waterfalls on Sat.. Left as early as 740am cos it was labor day and my kiasu-ness hit.. Managed to get a wonderful spot and the whole falls to ourselves for a good hour before the crowd started pouring in.. The girls cooked up a hearty meal for the rest.. we splashed, swam, taught others how to swim, cam whored and just had a fun loving time in the falls for more than 3.5 hours.. Then went for lunch and headed back just in time to get a quick shower before service.. Was so glad to see all cellies back for service.. We were also graced by the presence of a few close friends and visitors.. 15 in all!

Am expecting another great week this week, in every area of my life.. ‘His grace and mercies are new every morning’..

Out!.. for now

My project which was initially approved got put on hold. I was pretty bummed about it when I first found out, also not helping that it was the first thing I heard as I walked into work 2 days ago. But as I spoke to another colleague, she shared her experience on how once her project got put on hold for more than a year, but was later rolled out again.

So I guess the top lady is going with the flow and hopefully, when all is ok, my project will be back on its feet again.

Meanwhile, I’ve been tasked to work on another project, equally as interesting as the first one so I’m pretty excited about it. But there’s a lot more work involved in this one.

But by God’s grace and wisdom I know He’ll help me pull through.

Wanna dip?

The cell and a few others are heading to Chamang Waterfalls, Bentong this Sat. We're all so psyched. Since it's a public holiday, the girls decided that we'll spend Friday night after cell and early Saturday morning to cook up a meal for everyone so that we can head straight to the falls to have a picnic hopefully get a good spot before the crowd comes in..

Results

I've been falling sick quite frequently recently and so decided to visit the doctor for the 3rd time in this one week. My fever's been up and down this whole week and have been feeling so tired and horrible. I'm also just started my 3rd dose of antibiotics.

Doc did a mini blood test (super mini-she just pricked my finger and came up with a whole lot of numbers)

Denggi - Nope! Thank God. Don't wanna be getting it for the 2nd time. It's no fun. My platelet count was 145. If it's below 100, then it could possibly be denggi.

H1N1 - Nope! Praise God. My infection rate or something was way above normal.

Dehydration - YUP! I hadn't been drinking enough water over the weekend so I was terribly dehydrated.

Red Blood Cell Count - LOW! My count was way below normal. Not sure why though.

Doc said that I'm taking longer to recover this time cos I'm not drinking enough water and getting tired easily as my red blood cell count is low. Also the antibiotics that were given earlier did not work as they were not strong enough. I've been taking Augmentin for sometime now, so the milder antibiotics will either not work for me or I'll take a longer time to recover. So now I'm back on Augmentin.

I feel a little better today, but not 100% yet. I still feel a little weak and tired.

I'll probably go do a full medical work-up this weekend, or once I'm completely better. It's been a exactly a year now since I last did it.

Rocked it!

Yesterday I had to present the 2nd progress update for my project at HRMC.. (the meeting where all the big people in HR sit in).. And I was particularly nervous as the outcome of the project thus far was not in the direction that my director wanted to go..

So I prayed and prayed and prayed.. for favor most of all.. and that God would set the scene and 'soften' their hearts hehe..

And guess what.. God never fails to turn up! As I presented, my director said, 'Well if that's the direction that the Group wants to head in, then we'll just follow suit'.. Woohoo!! She was very pleased with the presentation and the content of it.. she then later went to my unit head, and told him that she was really happy that a lot of work has been put into the project so far and she's pleased with the update.. Thank You Lord for Favor!! That was a relieve..

Until.. until.. she goes.. 'Ok, I would like you to present this at the GHRC.. (the meeting in which our CEO and other top directors sit in) to update them on the progress..

Ggrrrrrr.... now I'm nervous again..

But I know without a doubt that God's gonna guide me through and give met the wisdom to answer all any/all questions that will be asked..

Thank you Lord for this amazing opportunity.. Help me to excel and bring this project to it's fullest fullest potential.. May your name be glorified..

*scratch scratch*

It's been so long since I've gotten my allergies.. Played with Buttons yesterday and voila - eyes and throat started to itch so bad, eyes became super tiny and red.. nose blocked!

You'd think I'd get better by morning.. but sigh! I'm at work now trying to breath through my mouth and trying so hard to not scratch my eyes..

Doesn't help that I'm still recovering from my fever as well..

Beloved

Beloved is definitely not to be missed!
I went for the rehearsal last nite, and boy have they put up a wonderful drama.
Come, be intrigued and amazed at the expanse of God's love for YOU - His BELOVED!

For centuries, the story of Jesus' birth, crucifixion, and resurrection has been told over and over again, accompanied by accounts of His miraculous ministry and those who chose to believe in Him and His saving grace; but little do many know about or have delved deeper into the roles of the host of angels who were close to Jesus in His mortal life.

Beloved, an Easter drama, aims to shed some light on the relationship of Jesus and the angels, their struggles, and how they played an integral part in fulfilling God's sovereign and perfect will in His life, so that He could overcome the grave and redeem us from the grasp of sin and death!

BELOVED - An Easter Drama
The greatest event ever since creation was about to unfold . . .

God was to reveal His purpose.

A purpose that ultimately showed His True Love … for You .. and Me

A Love so great that even the Heavenly Host could not fathom.

A Love so pure even Angels wept

Watch the unfolding of this Purpose

And witness a love so immense it stopped all of heaven

And changed all of earth

To ask or not to ask?

Someone recently said something to me.. And for the life of me, I couldn't figure out if she meant it in a positive or negative way.. and for a whole day, I was just thinking about it and it was driving me crazy.. Her comment surely didn't jive with everything else that I've been doing with her.. I thought that the next time I see her, I'm just going to ask what she meant.. But then again, I didn't know if that was the right move as well..

Then as I was driving to ATC on Sat morning, my mind was still swirling about it.. PJK was in the car with me and prepping for her sharing.. when suddenly she goes.. "you know, sometimes we just can't figure things out in life.. we just gotto move on and not worry about all the petty little things. Sometimes it's just not important to figure it out"...

Whoa! That's freaky man.. the way she just said that out..

But yea I guess God speaks and acts in mysterious ways sometimes and I love the way He just speaks through people and circumstances..

Sawadika

Last week, I booked flight tickets to Chiang Mai and Bangkok for my parents and I to go in July. It's been more than a year since we went for a holiday so I'm really looking forward to it.

Mum and I plan to go for a 1-Day Thai Cooking Class, in hopes to learn 6-8 authentic Thai dishes.. Yums!

I think we're really looking forward to the shopping, food and the MASSAGES! But most of all, the quality time together.

It's been a year

Last Wednesday marked one year.. How am I doing? I'm hanging in there.. Much better than I thought I would, seeing that lots has happened for others during this one year that I never thought would in such a short period..

Will I let that affect me? No Way! It did for a couple of days initially but I got over it when I realized that it didn't really matter anymore..

I think I've grown more in this one year, I've learnt to look for different qualities in people.. Realized that my 'list' isn't necessarily God's 'list' for me..

I'm so grateful for God's grace.. I'm only able to stand and get through this one year because His grace and mercy for me are new everyday.. And this is the grace that I need to hold on to for the years to come..

African CNY Bash

What do you think of a CNY bash with all Africans? That was exactly the scene yesterday at the cyber cell and I thought it was pretty cool.. The only Chinese you could see was Yeow Cheong, and me if that's counted lol. So like 1.5 Chinese in a pool of about 30 Africans.

I've missed the international cell a lot. I didn't realise just how much till last night. It's been months since I last visited cell due to different commitments and no cell being held end of last year. Missed the people the most. They're such a loving bunch, and not to mention crazy!!

PSP, Zulu & Sarah & the other leaders in cyber did an awesome job planning for yesterday. From the onstart, there was such a CNY feel to the party, from CNY deco and games to Chinese Fried Rice and Ang Pao packet tokens.. I'm so inspired now to prep some CNY tokens for our CNY bash this Friday, and with Friday being a public holiday, I got lotsa time to do so.

Maybe I should head to Old Town to get some lanterns and streamers as well to give it the CNY feel.. Hmm something to go discuss with my leaders.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I wish..

... yesterday never ended.. Sigh! Wednesday's here too fast..

I managed to do quite a bit over the 4-day holiday.. not all that I wanted that I planned for though.. but nevertheless quite a bit..

* Played boardgames with old cellies on Friday nite.. It was fun.. Been about a year since I last played with them..

* Watched 'True Legend' with parents on Sat morning.. Hmm not a good show.. Wouldn't recc it to anyone..

* Made toffee for my girls and packed them up in pretty lil packets with pretty lil pink & red bows

* Reunion dinner at Sarah's home.. She's such a sweetheart to invite me..

* First day of CNY visiting Jaylen in Rawang.. Good food and WII.. 'shake that hips'' lol

* Spend Valentines' Day with Khan.. and 'bolly girls' haha and got 'persuaded' into a sleepover..

* Cooked chicken varuval, rasam & katrika veg for parents on Monday..

* Worked on my art project.. Sigh! Still a long way to go..

* Lunch with Sue & Alvina on Tue... Took us about half an hour though trying to find a restaurant that was open.. We finally landed in Bandar Baru Ampang..

* Spend half a day at Little India in KL with Sue buying stuff, discovering Hanifa and drinking pasumpal tea with Gulab Jamun..

* Visited Nick & Sara's home and saw their tall baby, Nathan.. he's so adorable..

So I would say it was a productive 4 days.. Right right?? hehe

** Did anyone else notice how awesomely empty the roads were this morning?

Much Welcomed Break

I'm really looking forward to this long weekend.. Borrowed a new book to read.. "To Kill a Mockingbird".. believe it or not I've never read it before...

Wanna catch up on some baking.. I'm thinking of spending Saturday baking goodies for my girls.. Last year was Soft Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies.. What's on the menu this year?

This will also be a good time to 'try' and finish my art project that I started on 2 years ago.. I'm about 60% done.. I've bought the threads.. now just got to sit my butt down and work on it.. It's gonna be a beautiful piece once I'm done though..

I was also recently assigned to 2 new projects at work.. have to pray for wisdom & creativity.. Let those juices flow.. Amen! Probably spend a day working on that..

Many have already started travelling home last night I think or rather many are on leave today.. Cos I reached office in under 20 minutes! Bliss!

So yea, today's gonna be an awesome day cos it's leading up to 4 days of break!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to clear up all my work before I leave..

Blessings Double Fold

So I finally got myself a new phone last weekend.. My SE K660i gave its last breath last Sun.. That phone gave me so much trouble in the last 1.5 years.. sigh! I shall not even get into it..

But yea, got this baby at a really cool price... There was a promo going on for that one day that I went to buy it (God's so good rite?) and I traded in my old phone..

Then my dad says that he'll pay 50% for the new one.. Something which I didn't expect as I was already prepared to pay the full price.. I love my daddy.. =) both of them..

So I'm still getting use to the keypad.. Can't type as fast or without looking.. hehe.. But I reckon with practice I'll be able to in no time..

I've also been meaning to get myself some new dance shoes cos the old ones are just too old la and not very appropriate for ballroom dancing..

Just last week at class I tried out the sizes and patterns and told the lady I'll come back the following week (yesterday) to get it.. So anyways, I went to class yesterday and guess what... They were clearing stock!!!! and all shoes were 50% off..

So I got myself 2 pairs for the price of one.. One was exactly like the picture above, except that it's coffee colour.. and the other one is red and slightly different in style..

So in just 2 days, I've received blessings double fold.. God never fails to bless as we continue to give and sow..

Weekend came.. Weekend went..

I was so looking forward to last weekend by it passed by in a flash!

Didn’t get to sleep in on both days but rather had to wake up like before 6am.. =(

On Sat, I had to attend a HR Business Plan Workshop at our HQ in KL.. Session started at 8am and lasted through to 11am.. I was not really looking forward to it, being a Sat.. its suppose to be my rest day but was glad that I attended it.. (not that I had a choice la.. it was stated pretty boldly that it was compulsory haha)

Being a newbie here and still not knowing lots about the company, the workshop really gave me an insight to it. Got more in-depth information about our Regional Operating Model and our organisation structure. Business plans for all the units in HR were shared and I got an overall view of the business plans instead of a limited view of my own unit's business plans only. At the end of the session, we were required to craft our own Individual Development Plan for our own personal growth in order for us to be able to support the department's strategic vision and to perform our duties more effectively – here I was able to state the different units/departments that I would like to be rotated in future, the trainings that I would like to attend, the different ad-hoc projects that I wanna be apart of. So it was a fruitful 3 hours. Plus point also the session was fun, not boring.. Our Group Corporate Resources Director lead the session, and my that lady dynamic..

So yea weekend started off with a great start.. But everything after that just happened so quickly.. More updates later.. Got to work now..

New Year, New Phone??

I seriously need to consider buying a new phone.. My SE K660i is DYING!!!
It's been dying for sometime.. in the 1st year of warranty, I sent it in to the 'workshop' bout 4 times..
It just hangs, goes on auto-off mode, inactive sim..
Now it's latest trick is to go on this 'demo' mode..
Takes me at least like 10-15mins to get it back on..
And the most annoying part is when I'm on the phone with someone, it just decides to switch off on its own.. and it takes forever to get back online..

Any suggestions on phones to get??

2010 - Year Of Favor!

Our church (Glad Tidings) have declared that 2010 is the Year of Favor!

What is Favor?

Favor is is different from Grace, although it comes from the same root word. Grace is undeserved, unmerited. But the Bible is full of instruction about how we can obtain favor. Favor comes upon those who are watching, waiting, praying, keeping His commands, walking in kindness and truth… All of these things produce Favor! We live in the Favor of the Lord through prayer, faith, obedience and perseverance. Our prayer life, our faith in God and His Word, our obedience to God and our perseverance all determine the level of God’s favor in our lives and church.

So for 2010, we urge you to read through the 10 Blessings below that the Favor of God will produce, and as it “hits” you, claim it for yourself in 2010!!

10 Blessings that the FAVOR of God will produce!

1.God’s favor can produce supernatural promotion and increase (Gen 39:21)
2.God’s favor bring restorationof everything the enemy has stolen (Exo 3:21)
3.God’s favor bring honor in the midst of adversaries (Exo 11:3)
4.God’s favor can produce increased assets (Deut 33:23)
5.God’s favor can give great and unsual victories even against impossible odds (Jos 6:20; 10:9,20)
6.God’s favor can give recognition and promotion even when you seem to be the least likely one to receive it (1 Sam 16:22)
7.God’s favor can produce prominence and preferential treatment, favor and kindness (Est 5:8)
8.God’s favor gets petitions granted, even by ungodly civil authority (Est 8:5)
9.God’s favor can change rules, regulations, even laws if necessary to your advantage (Est 8:5)
10.God’s favor can win battles you did not even have to fight because God will fight them for you (Ps 44:3)

Have a Glorious Blessed and FAVOURABLE year for 2010!!

** Thanks Daren..

Engaged!

He asked her and she said YES!!!

They're engaged!! And that's more than one couple!

Next year's gonna be an awesome year for weddingS.. busy busy year!
Christmas is in 2 days!!!

I've been in a christmas-sy mood all day long.. Boss told me that I could leave early tomorrow.. and as far as I know, I'm the only Christian in the office who's been let to go home early tomorrow.. Weee!

Came home and finished wrapping up 90% of the presents.. The tree is overflowing with presents this year.. last year, we didn't shop for the extended family.. but this year, parents are going back to Ipoh to celebrate Christmas so we bought gifts for all the cousins, nephew & nieces and some of my mum's siblings..

Baked some cookies with mum.. Tried to ice them, but hand was not so steady la.. so a lil crooked here and there.. so for those of you who get the crooked ones, just remember it was made with love k? haha..

Tomorrow I've just got to shop for a couple more people.. special people.. =) already have in mind what I'm gonna get them so that would be easy..

Christmas Eve dinner with parents tomorrow, then head over to Groove Junction to catch Elvira perform..

I'm excited about Christmas but not sure what it's gonna be like.. Parents are leaving to ipoh after 1st service on Friday, so I'll be alone till Sunday evening... but I'm gonna make the most of it..

APYAC

APYAC – more than 1400 delegates gathered together from 29 different nations, across Asia Pacific and the nations beyond..

It was an awesome 3-day conference.. It was a miracle that I was even able to go for it.. Signed up for it long time back during the ‘early bird’ period.. but then decided that I wouldn’t go for the conference cos I just started work and felt that it wouldn’t be good to apply for leave so soon la..

Then on the 6th Dec, we had a consecration prayer and I decided then that I would build up the courage to go and ask my boss for leave as I wanted to be blessed very much during the conference as well as be a blessing..

So about 1130am on 7th Dec, I went up to her and told her that I would like to apply leave to attend a conference during the coming weekend.. Told a few people to pray along with me..

Boss : ‘Oh, the Asia Pacific one?’

Me : Yes. How’d you know?

Boss : Oh my daughter is attending it as well. Go ahead for the conference, just keep me updated on work.

God is so super faithful man!!! Thank you for your prayers.. I really do covet them..

So then I msged a few other telling them that I could now make the conference and am able to help out in anyway needed.. PJK calls to say that she needs help in hosting the international delegates and I was blessed to host the Indonesian delegates.. about 100+ of them in total.. Worked very closely together with Amanda..

Amanda – You were awesome to work with! Enjoyed every moment of our partnership.. haha

I managed to make it for most of the sessions and was utterly blessed by it.. Loved Ps. Mike Pilavachi’s preaching (founder of Soul Survivor).. It’s so practical + superbly hilarious!!! Hopefully he would come down with his band one day..

We had the privilege of having the YAM, Indonesian & Philippines band to anchor the night sessions.. Oh my they were awesome!

YAM – You guys did good.. Especially on the last night, you ushered in the presence of God in a beautiful way..

Indo Band – You guys rock!!!

I’m so proud that I was able to play a tiny role in this HUGE conference.. Props to all the full-time staff who helped pull this conference together, especially the hosting committee.. You guys worked so hard and till the wee hours in the morning, sometimes not sleeping for days!! Know that your labour is not in vain!!

Look out for APYAC 2012!!

Do you regret your past?

I sure don't.. with the many countless mistakes I've made.. and trust me some of them were pretty darn stupid, I still don't regret them.. If it hadn't been for my past, I don't think I would have drawn closer to God.. I don't think I would have come back to Him fully..

From every one mistake that I've made, at least one lesson has been learnt..

His faithfulness endures forever and His grace and mercies are new every morning..

Ministry Volunteers' Appreciation Dinner

Last night was Ministry Volunteers’ Appreciation Dinner.. A night where the church appreciates all the volunteers of the church who have laboured their service with love.. There were 960 of us present.. It was the first for me.. Although I’ve been serving for a number of years now, I don’t remember attending one before.. I believe I was in Ipoh last year during the dinner..

We started of the evening in Maranatha with a short but powerful session of worship.. Then a 4-piece string quartet performed ‘Great is thy faithfulness’ and ‘Father in heaven how we love you’ – it was classic! Among the performers were Peck Sun, Melissa and Boon Hong.. (never knew Boon Hong played the chello! Haha)

Then Ps. Vincent and all the other language churches gave a report on their respective churches. It was encouraging to see the number of souls saved and the way God has been blessing the language churches..

Next, the highlight of the night for me was the ‘Cardboard Testimony’.. It was something that was done in Lakewood during their Building Pledge.. We talked about it at L-cell some months back and both Roger & Thay gave us the link to go check it out.. You can watch it here..

But yesterday’s cardboard testimony by the GT-ians was somehow more meaningful for me.. I guess cos I knew most of them up on stage and was able to connect to their ‘before’ status and seen how God’s has been really doing a good work in their life and how they now wholeheartedly serve Him..

One guy’s testimony (I think he’s from the Chinese church) was:

Before : In a Prison Cell
After : Now a Cell Leader

Naledi’s was:

Before : Against the idea of International Cells
After : International Cell Zone Leader

I was so touched by the testimonies of so many of them.. How God’s transformed them into beautiful man and woman of God.. Couldn't help but tear a lil..

Dinner.. Ah dinner.. so not what I expected.. It was a 10-course Chinese sit-down dinner.. The food as many would agree was so much better than some of the wedding dinners I’ve been to.. It was a great experience as well to be able to see most of the Africans eating fish, prawns, crab, shark fins soup, other types of seafood and the desserts for their VERY FIRST TIME.. The internationals at my table loved it!! But some other Bots, didn’t really enjoy it..

Black one this time..

I got me a new car.. After the Bestari 206 fell through, dad told me to buy the latest Myvi... I was pretty reluctant at first cos didn't wanna be jumping into any rash decisions after what happened..

But anyway, I went and saw the car, both my parents viewed the car as well. So funny - we all checked it out at different times; dad in johor, me near my house and mum later on.

It's a good deal la.. Cos my uncle will be buying the current Myvi that I'm driving and he's giving us like way more than I'll get if I sell to someone else or a 2nd hand car dealer..

So we'll get about 5-6k in hand after selling the current car to my uncle, just pay a wee bit more in installments every month for the new car and I get a brand new car.

Dad's pretty bummed that I didn't tender for the number 282.. Fell that I would just save on that $$. We've had like 7 cars with the plate 282 and after many years this would be the first car to change the cycle.. (with the exception of that one car la).

The sales lady called and said that the car would be ready on Thursday.. What a gift huh? =)

Judge not.. only support

Had a heart-to-heart chat with 2 of my girlfriends sometime last week.. We were just suppose to have dinner to catch up but it turned out to be a sleepover.. sharing our hearts till the wee hours of the morning over tim-tams (that i curi-ed from someone, shhh lol) and kopi-o..

I shared with my girls something that I've never shared with anyone else before.. something that I've been keeping to myself for years.. Something that brings tears to my eyes and such heartache EVERY TIME I think about it.. It was such a struggle to have been going through it alone for so long.. But I thank God that as I shared it, there was such a release..

Trust. That was the only reason I was able to open up. I trusted my girls lots and decided to just unload on them.. They did not judge.. They did not condemn.. They did not look down on me.. They did however encourage, support and prayed along..

From past mistakes and life circumstances, I too have learnt to not be quick to judge on others.. That we are only human, that we too fall at times and it is in our weakness that God's strength may be glorified..

It took me a long while to trust them to be able to open up like that.. in fact, I surprised myself as well at how much I did say because I'm pretty selective on the people I speak to about my life as well as details of it..

But I guess God has his appointed time la... and it was high-time that I did speak about it.. Couldn't hold it in any longer or I would have become worse dwelling in it..

Girls:
Thank you for not judging.. Thank you for your support.. I covet your prayers.. May God continue to use our lives to minister to others.. Love you loads!! xoxo

Movie Review: This is it

I was not big on wanting to watch Michael Jackson's "This is it". Friends who've watched all raved about how great the show was saying it'll be a shame if you missed it..

So finally decided to go watch it last Sun since I had some kaki to go with.. Oh my! IT WAS AWESOME!!! This guy was like 50 years old and he can still move so great.. My fav song was 'Beat it'.. Also liked one of the last song he sang, can't remember the name.. he wore this purple shirt and was dancing alone on stage.. Nice!

This dude has like a whole different tune going on in his head..

It also gave me an insight on how humble he is..

Next movie I wanna watch - Time Traveler's Wife

Isn't it beautiful how God works things out for us..

Last weekend my friend went to confirm a certain package.. Previously she was told that she should come back before the end of the month to enjoy the promotion that was being offered.. The sales lady however forgot to mention that it was only for the first 10 customers and my friend didn't make that bracket..

So she went back last weekend to book a similiar package and she received above and beyond what she thought she would be getting.. They're so blessed!!

I've been trying to get the Naza Bestari 206 for some months now, since August actually.. but there's been so many hiccups..

First, they ran out of stock
Then, my dad's car dealer friend managed to get stock
Then, my loan wouldn't be approved cos I just started work
After a long process of trying all sorts of means, my loan got approved
Now, the car's gone again!!

My dad's friend had already placed a booking fee but they say that it depends on a first-come-first-serve basis..

Last night and this morning I was just thinking about the car and told God that if this is your will, grant me favor but if it's not, then please close the door and give me peace within..

Just about 5 minutes ago, the lady called me and told me that the car's totally out of stock.. No chance in getting it AT ALL!!!

I just replied, 'Oh, I see.. it's ok then.. Thank you so much..'

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Never shortchanged

Dad called me yesterday while I was out and told me that I had a letter from Affin Bank.. That was so weird cos I don't remember having any dealings with them so I told him to open the letter..

Guess what!!

I won RM100 from Affin!!! Weeeeee!!!

It's in form of a savings account though, but.. it's still $$$

Then I remember sometime back I entered a lucky draw when I was at the Curve..

I was just telling someone the other day, I'm gonna be really pokai this month cos there's just so many different expenses + birthdays + dinners.. Then God blesses me with this.. I also just remembered bout my claims at Sun-U which I can collect next week..

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38

Continue to be faithful in your giving + tithes.. It's not the amount that you give, but the heart.. God loves a cheerful giver and He will never shortchange you.. I've been taught from young that no matter how hard it is, to always be disciplined in giving of tithes + offerings.. and I've NEVER been shortchanged! Try it!

It's been a beautiful week..

Had an awesome start to the week.. Fresh start in the mornings everyday, although on some nights I slept so late and so didn't feel like waking up in the morning..

I'd dragged myself outta bed after snoozing the alarm for the 5th time.. take my shower & get all pretty, eat my half boiled kampung egg, do my devo and spend time with my Father in the car.. and walah! I'm all fresh!

I only have 10 working days left here.. Lord let me make the most of it.. Use me Use me Use me to share your love to those around me..

** Oh I'm so grateful cos I nearly met with an accident yesterday on the highway.. all the cars in front of me were braking so hard and I was so close to being in a back-to-back car crash! But He protected me and my car.. Thank you Jesus!

Now it's back to work.. Gonna get me a cuppa of coffee and be productive..

Last day at Sun-U

I submitted my letter of resignation last Monday. My last day at Sun-U will be on the 16th Nov then I start my job at CIMB on the 19th Nov.

Was sharing with my buddy earlier how I was pretty unsettled about accepting the job at CIMB. The interview process for CIMB was SO LONG and in between I went for interview at another company. Prayed and told God that if that job is not for me, to not let it go through. That company didn't call back.

I thanked God for His clarity but I was a lil bummed as I had my heart kinda set on that job. Preferred that job description more, it paid better, company was also very established. But I guess God has His plans and His plans are definitely way higher and way wiser than mine.

So with that assurance I now have peace in my heart bout working at CIMB. I know God has a plan and purpose for me there.

I have to admit I'm a lil excited + nervous to work at CIMB cos I know it's gonna be a totally different environment. Have to continue to draw strength from Him.

Happy Birthday Katrika!

Jessica plays many roles in my life.. A sister, cousin, friend, partner-in-crime, masak-masak playmate.. In a family of 24 cousins, Jess is the only one who shares my age.. Growing up as an only child, she was like really the person I would go to for everything..

I remember we used to write each other letters when we were young cos we couldn't call each other.. I still have all those letters.. She would make me pretty cards for my birthdays and Christmas.. haha when we were younger, we would put glitter and stickers on the cards and letters to 'soup' it up..

25 years later, we are still as close as ever, if not closer..

I love you girl.. May God continue to mould and shape you into the woman of God He has called you to be.. I pray that He grants your inmost heart's desires.. Even as you venture into this new business, may He grant you favor with your customers, partner and most of all with Him.. Continue to commit everything into His hands and He will make straight your path..

You've been a great joy and blessing to me.. Love you Pandee!!

She looked like a princess..

I followed S yesterday to go check out bridal gowns and packages.. It's truly a joy to be able to be apart of their wedding planning cos they're one of my favourite people and I'm really looking forward to the day they say 'I do'.. So when she asked me if I would help her out with her wedding, I went YES OF COURSE!!!!

We went to 3 different bridal shops yesterday and the deal that was offered to her got better with every shop.. She tried on many dresses.. and oh my, she looked like a princess!!! The three of us we oooh-ing and aahh-ing every time she stepped out in a pretty little white number.. She managed to try on all the different styles and we gave her our thoughts on which style best suited her..

It was a fruitful 3.5 hours spent.. In the last shop, we even got to meet this really pleasant sales lady which let her try on as many dresses as she wanted.. which was superbly cool cos the other shops only let her try bout 2-3 dresses..

There was another bride trying on dresses there and oh my, her taste was just.. erm different.. She chose all the dresses that we would have never ever even given a second look.. Okok I got to stop being so mean.. =P

Anyway, let's not get off track.. back to S.. she looked gorgeous in all the dresses.. I had my eye on one dress in one of the shops.. she tried on that particular style, not the same dress but the same style and it was by far my favourite for her..

Groom's gonna be so wow-ed when she walks down the aisle.. hehe..

ChaCha Anyone?

After 2 weeks of being absent from dance class, I dragged myself to class last Monday.. They had completed Jive and was now in Cha Cha..

Being honest, I didn't feel like going for the class.. a) cos I was still not feeling a 100% b) hmm, I also dunno la guess I just wasn't in the mood..

There were 6 of us on Monday (not sure where the rest hilang to) and the figure was just right.. 3 guys 3 girls..

Surprisingly, I enjoyed myself very much during the class.. Had a good time dancing with all of them that we even stayed back after to 'practice'.. haha I think I'm one of the slowest in the class compared to the rest and also one of the youngest.. There're like 2 grandfathers and they moved so well haha.. They pick up really fast and lead the lady really good as well... I didn't join them for their beginner classes so had lots to pick up plus although the technique is somewhat the same (I mean, it's Cha Cha, how different can you be) but the technique of teaching is different.. I kinda prefer this teacher.. She's really professional and she's clear in the teaching and movements..

So yea, I'm looking forward to next Monday.. It's sad though that they don't teach Salsa in Bronze level.. Me like to Salsa.. =)

Trust

"God is my refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble"
Ps 46:1

Lord I commit this season into your hands.. Help us get through it Lord.. We look to you to be our refuge and strength.. our ever-present help in trouble.. Please Father, make a way where there seems to be no way.. We put our trust and hope in you.. Thank you Lord that You will see us through..

ALL Food Comes From India

Test was (-)ve

Went to work early this morning but headed home after 2 hours.. My body just felt so weak and boss told me to go home and rest..

Local GP told me to take the H1N1 test, a simple nose swab which cost RM50 and the results were out in 15 minutes..

PTL!! The results were negative..

Doc gave me MC for today and tomorrow and told me to rest lots..

I feel kinda bad for abandoning my co-workers at such a peak time at office.. Been away from office the whole week but I guess it's best for me to not be around then to spread the bug to the rest.. Nothing would get done then..
